Today I’m going to show you how to make one of those items that I kind of can’t live without and I always feel really bad and kind of wasteful that I’m like why do I go through these so much but makeup pads or makeup wipes I love these things so much for some reason they were so convenient I love being able to like just grab it it’s already ready and then face clean so I thought that it could be something that would be really fun and easy DIY and the great thing about this too is then you really know what’s going on your skin I’ve been sort of recently detoxing my sort of makeup counter a little bit and sort of trying to replace you know ingredients or items that maybe have things that I’m like I don’t only know what’s in it with stuff that.
I really trust and what I like about this is you really can keep track of everything and you can actually fine-tune it to your skin so what I have in front of me are just three ingredients it’s so simple I have layers witch hazel and this actually has rose petals in it so it actually has some rose water and I love Thayer’s it’s one of the few sort of alcohol-free pure witch hazels it’s also organic the cool thing about witch hazel is it actually tightens your pores you look immediately like you kind of got like a teeny bit of work done maybe work with the witch hazel and so it’s really great I then have 100% pure aloe vera and this is 99% organic which is pretty solid so the thing with aloe vera is as you know it’s super soothing so if you have any redness or sort of any skin that sort of is hurt or you’ve been in the Sun aloe vera is where it’s at but the thing is for this recipe you definitely want to use the pure aloe vera and then I have jojoba oil and what I like about to jobel is it’s just a really great sort of catch olive oil.
It’s really soothing it for me is great for my skin I notice that it really replenishes it kind of plumps it up gives it a really kind of dewy texture which is great and the other thing about oil is oil is actually sounds counter intuitive oil is a great way to get rid of the oil and dirt on your face put a little bit of oil on a pad and wipe your face down and everything comes up so I have sort of three powerhouse players coming together and we’re going to use that to make our makeup wipes alright well let’s get started so to make this it’s super simple you want to start with a jar or honestly any container but something that’s being on the smaller side so it actually really holds everything together and also just make sure it’s sanitized you don’t want there to be any weird stuff in there so Santa sized that you just boil your jar for you know basically I say twelve minutes to be safe and then you just cool it upside down so everything drains out you let it be to start.
I’m going to add five tablespoons of my witch hazel and then I’m going to add two tablespoons of aloe vera and then I’m going to add a tablespoon of the jojoba oil so I’m just going to close this up I’m just shaking it really aggressively to sort of a bowl safai everything together there we go so now that this is good to go I am actually going to take my pads stuff them in there and I’m pressing down to really soak them in there we go yep and pressing down again to really soak and then I’m closing this up and I’m going to let it sit for about an hour and what’s going to happen is the pads are gonna fully soak up and kind of plump up as well and then they’ll basically be ready to go it’s such an easy quick way to just kind of have these at the ready you know all the ingredients that are inside of them and the great thing is it’s actually reusable you can have this on your counter and just reload it with more pads so you’re not creating more waste anyway I think this is amazing.
